An Italianate custom in Westminster’s pretty Huntington Trails puts Boulder within reach

Getting your player ready...

Westminster’s pretty Huntington Trails neighborhood on the eastern edge of McKay Lake is just about a drive-time midpoint between downtown Denver and Boulder, 25 minutes each way.

Veteran agent Jack Fine will show you a true custom home there Sunday, Oct. 20, over 6,400 finished square feet on a view-swept 0.39-acre lot, with a price tag that makes for a quite a contrast to what this quality of home would run at either destination.

At 1380 Huntington Trails Parkway, a mile west of I-25 on West 144th Avenue, Fine’s custom listing shows Italianate styling, priced at $1.690 million — a tad below what a few new homes are being offered for in Huntington Trails this year.

In 2007, when this came out of the ground, the builder had a pick of one of the best sites in the community, right on a broad trail corridor that magnifies the lot size, leading west to the lake, east to the neighborhood pool.

The floor plan is no cookie-cutter custom based on a production-home plan; rather, it has a well-defined entry that opens to a spectacular staircase in cherry and wrought iron, wrapped by a creative arrangement of formal and family areas, the formal dining room set with a corner view of open space.

On a property thatap relatively recent, it has nonetheless been given an extensive remodel, including the kitchen with Viking commercial-grade appliances, bright cabinetry, and a centerpiece island that seats six, with quartz tops and designer base.

The upstairs master is set behind a rotunda entry and has a coffered ceiling and elaborate bath showing three vanities (one a sit-down makeup vanity) and large his-and-her walk-in closets.

The entire home has chateau quality finishes — mass walls, pilasters and lots of cherry.

Needless to say, there’s plenty of new shopping and dining thatap arrived here since its completion.

Fine will have treats out, noon to 4 p.m.

Take 144th west a mile from I-25 and turn south on Huntington Trails Parkway.

The news and editorial staffs of The Denver Post had no role in this postap preparation.
