Limon earned a win when they defeated Burlington 38-21 on Friday, Oct. 18 at Limon High School, Lloyd Gaskill Field.
Trey Hines powered Limon’s passing attack with 111 yards through the air. Alex Carr lead all Limon receivers with three receptions for 56 yards and one score.
Kory Tacha spearheaded the Limon ground game by gaining 245 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 14.4 yards per carry. Tacha also tacked on 48 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jeremiah Leeper added 85 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.
Michael Gutierrez powered Burlington’s passing attack with 164 yards through the air. Gutierrez also added 25 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Gutierrez’s most prolific receiver in the contest was Andrew Burton, who caught eight passes for 149 yards and one score.
Burlington’s ground game was lead by Braxton Erker who racked up 101 yards in the game, averaging 8.4 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Limon heading to play Wray and Burlington taking on Yuma.
