Sheridan couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Platte Canyon squad, losing by a score of 38-8 on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Brandon Patterson spearheaded the Platte Canyon rushing attack by finishing with 189 yards and three touchdowns in the game, averaging 11.8 yards per carry. Matthew Bracknell added 54 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 6.8 yards per carry.

Luis Cruz powered Sheridan’s passing attack with 56 yards through the air. Cruz also added 41 yards on the ground. Cruz’s most relied on target in the ballgame was Kevin Trejo, who caught two passes for 56 yards.

James Cordova spearheaded the Sheridan rushing attack by gaining 70 yards in the contest, averaging 17.5 yards per carry.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Platte Canyon heading to play Lake County and Sheridan taking on Jefferson.
