Monte Vista earned a win when they defeated Ignacio 18-7 on Friday, Oct. 18.
Monte Vista quarterback Colton Mellott led the passing attack with 65 yards through the air. Mellott also added 61 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Monte Vista’s leading receiver was Tyrese Otero, who caught one pass for 53 yards.
Levi Trujillo lead all Monte Vista rushers with 129 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 5 yards per carry. Kaidon Wenta added 63 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.
In their next games, Monte Vista will play host to Center, while Ignacio will travel to play Dolores.
