
INDIANAPOLIS — One day shy of seven weeks since he injured his knee, Broncos right tackle Ja’Wuan James will return to action today against the .
Throughout the week, coach said James made progress, the Broncos were “leaning” toward activating James and he would “possibly” start.
James is expected to start the game — he was injured 10 snaps into the season-opening loss at Oakland. He returned to full practice activity on Wednesday.
, who started the last six games in James’ place, will be the back-up offensive tackle and itap possible he takes some snaps at left tackle, replacing the embattled Garett Bolles.
Other roster notes:
Rookie receiver Juwann Winfree is active for the first time since Week 1; he was a healthy scratch the last six games. Winfree gets to play following Tuesday’s trade of to San Francisco.
The Broncos’ seven inactive players:
- Cornerback Bryce Callahan (foot). Has not played this year and Fangio said on Friday itap “50-50” whether he plays at all.
- Safety Will Parks (hand). Sustained a broken hand in the Week 7 loss to Kansas City and had surgery. He is expected back against Minnesota in Week 11.
- Defensive end Jonathan Harris. Claimed off waivers from Chicago on Wednesday.
- Defensive end . A healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive game.
- Offensive tackle Calvin Anderson. A healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive game since being signed.
- Offensive tackle Jake Rodgers. James’ return makes him a healthy scratch.
- Tight end Troy Fumagalli. A healthy scratch for the fifth consecutive game.
