8. Minnesota (6-3):Vikings led at Kansas City 23-20 with under four minutes remaining, but gave up two drives that ended in Chiefs field goals.

9. Indianapolis (5-3):The troubles returned for kicker Adam Vinatieri. He had an extra point blocked and he hooked a 43-yarder with 1:11 remaining (lost 26-24 to Steelers).

10. Dallas (5-3):Yes, the Cowboys rolled past the Giants 37-18, but it should be concerning how long they let New York hang around.

11. L.A. Rams (5-3):Three games out of the division lead, the Rams’ best chance is edging out Seattle for a wild card berth.

12. Houston (6-3):Defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel made Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew look like a rookie (three turnovers).

13. Philadelphia (5-4): The Eagles had 36 more plays than Chicago and held possession for more than 40 minutes, but still scored only 22 points.

14. Carolina (5-3):Running back has 1,244 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns; only the sixth player in history (and first since 2002) to have at least 1,200/13 in his team’s first eight games.

15. Buffalo (6-2):Give the Bills credit — they’ve taken advantage of their schedule. They’ve beaten , , , , and Dwayne Haskins.

16. Jacksonville (4-5):Going back to starter is probably the best course of action for Jaguars.

17. Oakland (4-4):In win over Detroit, rookies scored all four of the Raiders’ touchdowns — running back Josh Jacobs (two) and tight end Foster Moreau/receiver Hunter Renfrow (one apiece).
:vs. L.A. Chargers (Thursday).
18. Pittsburgh (4-4):Don’t look now, but the Steelers are 4-1 since an 0-3 start. If they can get by Rams, their next four are Cleveland (twice), Cincinnati and Arizona.

19. L.A. Chargers (4-5):A great plan by defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to hold the Packers to 184 yards (only 3.8 per play).

20. Tennessee (4-5):The Titans’ first-half possessions in 30-20 loss at Carolina — missed field goal, punt, fumble, interception, punt and missed field goal.
:vs. Kansas City.
21. Chicago (3-5):The Bears’ offense had nine first-half yards in loss to Philadelphia.
:vs. Detroit.
22. Detroit (3-4-1):The Lions gained 473 yards at Oakland, but were minus-2 in turnovers, leading to 14 Oakland points in Raiders win.

23. Broncos (3-6):The Broncos avoided their first 1-4 home start since 1967.

24. Arizona (3-5-1):The Cardinals hung tough against San Francisco, but allowed the 49ers to convert 11 of 17 third-down chances.

25. Tampa Bay (2-6):The Buccaneers never got the football in Sunday’s overtime loss at Seattle; the Seahawks won with a 75-yard touchdown drive.

26. Cleveland (2-6):Odell Beckham Jr., was targeted only on six of ’s 42 pass attempts (five catches) against the Broncos.

27. New York Giants (2-7):Five sacks allowed and only 28 rushing yards by Saquon Barkley in loss to Dallas. But they’re not the worst team in New York.

28. Miami (1-7):Good for the Dolphins on their 26-18 win over the Jets. No team deserves to go 0-16.

29. Atlanta (1-7):Coach Dan Quinn made it through the Falcons’ bye week. We don’t know why.

30. N.Y. Jets (1-7):This is how bad the Jets are — they lost to Miami … and it wasn’t surprising.

31. Washington (1-8):Dwayne Haskins’ first start — no turnovers (good) and no touchdowns (bad).

32. Cincinnati (0-8):The Bengals are now on the inside track for the top overall pick. Quarterback Ryan Finley debuts Sunday.
