FRISCO — On the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 13, for Saturday. Keystone will open the Mountain House base area and the Peru Chair. Keystone spokeswoman Loryn Roberson said more Saturday terrain might be announced Friday.
Breckenridge will open its Peak 9 base area and the intermediate Bonanza and Crosscut runs, the beginner Cashier, Lower American, Silverthorne and Lower Sawmill runs and the Upper Park Lane terrain park.
On Wednesday afternoon, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced its Sundance beginner run would open Thursday. It is A-Basin’s first open beginner run of the season, adding to the front-side terrain.
Copper Mountain Resort announced Thursday morning that the American Flyer and Super Bee lifts will open Saturday, which will open High Point and Loverly beginner runs.
How are the ski areas able to open so much more terrain despite the lack of snow? While it has been dry, snow guns have been running as overnight temperatures are still suitable for snowmaking.
