A smoky fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in northeast Denver just off Interstate 70 and Steele Street.
The fire is burning in an abandoned building off East 45th Avenue and Milwaukee Street, according to the Denver Fire Department.

The smoke is visible from I-70 and is causing traffic issues, the fire department said. Drivers should avoid the area and find an alternate route if possible.
No injuries are reported.
