ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — After the Bills demolished the Broncos 20-3 on Sunday, Buffalo defensive end Shaq Lawson didn’t leave the field without reminding Denver center Connor McGovern about the outcome.

Lawson, who had two sacks and two tackles for loss, found McGovern during the postgame handshake and confronted him.

“You’ll remember my name,” Lawson told McGovern as Bills center Mitch Morse stepped between the two. “I got two sacks on (you).”

Lawson later that the Broncos were “talking junk” earlier in the game at New Era Field.

“To start the game, I think it was No. 60 (McGovern), he goes, ‘I haven’t remembered you since college,’” Lawson said. “I said, ‘I bet I show you.’”

Both of Lawson’s sacks, which accumulated 23 negative yards for Denver, came on missed assignments at the line that allowed Lawson to run to quarterback Brandon Allen untouched. The first came off the edge in the second quarter, and the second sack came when Lawson split McGovern and left guard Dalton Risner in the third quarter.

The two sacks tied Lawson’s single-game career high. Allen was sacked four times overall.
