The Denver metro area will have poor visibility Monday and residents should limit indoor burning, the state’s Department of Public Health and Environment said in an advisory Sunday.

Poor visibility is expected across a seven-county region including Denver, Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Arapahoe, Jefferson and Douglas counties, according to the agency, which declared Monday an “Action Day for Visibility.” The poor visibility will be caused by limited “atmospheric mixing and ventilation,” the agency said.

Indoor burning is restricted until 4 p.m. Monday and the agency encouraged residents to reduce driving. Aside from visibility, air quality Monday is expected to be good.
