Getting your player ready...

Up: posted career highs in catches (six) and receiving yards (65) and has continued to settle into a role within a young Broncos receiving core along with and . His 3-yard touchdown reception off a Drew Lock shovel pass was a thing of red-zone beauty.

Down: Punt coverage. Especially with 10:52 left in the first half, when Detroitap Jamal Agnew took a Colby Waldman punt, broke a Joe Jones tackle, and hoofed it 64 yards for a touchdown, pushing the Lions lead to 10-0.

Up: Backup linemen. Right tackle left the contest in the first half with an ankle injury. Left guard Dalton Risner has been battling viral gunk for most of the week and sat out after halftime. But their replacements, Jake Rodgers and Patrick Morris, respectively, opened nice holes for and kept Drew Lock clean.

Down: The crowd. The Broncos announced 9,674 no-shows, which means roughly 10,000 more turned up for this one than against the Chargers, when there were 19,094 no-shows. But almost 10,000 no-shows on a warm December day is never a good look.

Up: Color rush jerseys. Yes, from a distance, they look like traffic cones with blueberries on top. But it brings back all kinds of memories that are warm and the fuzzy. And speaking of warm …

Up: The weather. Sunday’s kickoff temperature of 67 degrees was the second-warmest on-record for a December Broncos home game. The all-time record for warmest home December kickoff temp is 68 degrees, set on Dec. 6, 1981 against Kansas City.

Down: Holding, No. 72. Left tackle Garett Bolles has to be getting sick of hearing his number called at Empower Field at Mile High. So are Broncos fans, who booed lustily when No. 72 was called for his 13th hold of the season in the first quarter, pushing the hosts back to a first-and-20 at their own 34-yard line.

Up: The pass rush. Outside linebacker Jeremiah Attachou recorded his third sack in three weeks with a first-half takedown of Lions QB David Blough. Rookie outside linebacker Malik Reed and first-year defensive end Dre’Mont Jones got in on the action, too, giving the hosts three sacks of Blough over the first two periods. Jones finished with two sacks on the afternoon.

Down: RB Devontae Booker. Likely playing his second-to-last game with the Broncos, Booker has two jobs when he’s in the game on third down — pass protect or catch the football. On the first offensive possession, Booker got open on a wheel route, but dropped Drew Lock’s pass to force a punt.

Up: Old-school logo. The Broncos’ alternate helmet — navy blue with the old-school ‘D’ — was in full display on Sunday. This look should be used more often, particularly at home games.
