Thornton police arrested a man Wednesday who is accused of killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash during the weekend.
Melvin Woolley, 37, was at large until officers arrested the vehicular homicide suspect, according to police.

Woolley allegedly fled a traffic stop Saturday near West Colfax Avenue and Lamar Street in Lakewood. As police tried to pull him over, he sped off and allegedly hit a pedestrian crossing the street at West Colfax Avenue and Benton Street. He then crashed into a wall, got out of his car and ran away, according to police.
The pedestrian, identified as 29-year-old Jonathon Furley, died at a hospital.
Woolley is facing charges of vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, vehicular eluding causing death, driving under restraint, no proof of insurance, expired license plates and obscured license plates, according to police.
