Denver’s coroner on Thursday identified the armed man shot and killed by Denver police in Aurora.
Nico Descheenie died of multiple gunshot wounds after police stopped him about 6:05 p.m. for driving a stolen vehicle at Interstate 225 and East Iliff Avenue. The manner of death was ruled a homicide, the coroner wrote.
Police previously said Descheenie was armed and alone in the vehicle. Authorities did not say whether he shot at officers or brandished his weapon.
Two people have been shot and killed by police in Colorado this year.
