HOUSTON – Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. experienced back tightness while going through warmups on Wednesday prior to their game against the Rockets and has been ruled out.

Porter was seen at the Toyota Center with what appeared to be a wrap around his back a little more than an hour before the game. Itap the first time this season he’s been on the injury report. He wasn’t listed on the injury report earlier in the day.

Porter sat out all of last season rehabbing his second back surgery. He underwent his first during his lone season at Missouri.

The Nuggets believe Wednesday’s tightness is unrelated to any prior back issues, according to a person familiar with the situation.

With Porter out, the Nuggets are down five of their top seven rotation players along with , , and .
