BOULDER — This time, the Colorado Buffaloes completed the weekend. And they did so emphatically.

The 23rd-ranked Buffs secured their first series sweep of the Pac-12 Conference schedule in dominant fashion Saturday night at the CU Events Center, pouncing on Washington early and controlling the contest throughout a 76-62 victory.

The win improved CU to 16-4 overall, marking the best 20-game start in 10 seasons under head coach Tad Boyle, and 5-2 in the Pac-12 going into next week’s two-game road swing through Los Angeles.

CU erupted out of the gate, knocking down seven of its first eight 3-point attempts while harassing the Huskies into 12 first-half turnovers. The Buffs closed the first half with a 12-2 run to take a 51-33 lead at the break, getting five points during that run from 7-footer Dallas Walton off the bench.

While the Buffs cooled in the second half, the Huskies stayed close thanks to their own hot 3-point shooting, as UW finished the game 11-for-23 from long range. But UW never got closer than 10 points throughout the second half as CU snapped a five-game losing streak against the Huskies.

McKinley Wright IV paced the Buffs with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Tyler Bey returned from his one-game absence due to a sprained right hand to record 16 points. Senior Lucas Siewert enjoyed another solid effort off the bench, contributing 12 points and five rebounds.

CU finished with 22 assists, its second-highest total of the season. The Buffs also outrebounded UW 40-31 and forced 20 turnovers out of the Huskies.
