A crash on Interstate 225 southbound near Iliff Avenue closed the interstate Tuesday afternoon backing up rush-hour traffic before the wreckage was cleared.
Traffic along southbound I-225 was diverted off the highway at 6th Avenue, according to a news release from the Colorado Department of Transportation.
CDOT, just before 5 p.m., said the collision was cleared out and the highway reopened.
A police investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
