The Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds earned a win when they defeated the Cotopaxi Pirates 34-27 on Friday.
Sangre de Cristo was paced in scoring by Kylee Christensen who accounted for 19 points while also recording three rebounds and one assist. Avery Palmgren aided the effort by contributing eight points and two rebounds.
Cotopaxi was lead in scoring by Shealee Coleman who accounted for 11 points, while also recording five rebounds and two assists. Koylynn Gulliford helped by contributing eight points and nine rebounds.
Cotopaxi will stay home and play La Veta, while Sangre de Cristo will travel to play Antonito.
