Scattered areas of dense fog are expected Thursday morning in the Denver metro area and snow flakes could begin falling just in time for the late afternoon commute, forecasters said.
Patchy thick fog will make visibility difficult for some morning commuters, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
There’s a 20% chance of light snow showers in Denver after 4 p.m., the NWS said. Scattered snow is expected before 9 p.m.
The mountains could get up to 4 inches of snow, the NWS said.
The high temperature is expected to be near 41 degrees Thursday, the weather service said. It could be blustery with wind gusts up to 23 mph Thursday night.

It should be sunny Friday in Denver with a high temperature of around 50 degrees. It will be even warmer on the weekend with a high temperature of around 65 degrees on Saturday and 67 degrees on Sunday, the NWS said.
There is a slight chance for rain and snow between 11 p.m. and midnight on Sunday.
Snow showers are more likely on Monday, the NWS said.
