Pedestrians wear face masks in Bangkok, Jan. 31, 2020. The Wuhan coronavirus spreading from China is now likely to become a pandemic that circles the globe, according to many of the world's leading infectious disease experts.

Army National Guard base south of Colorado Springs selected as site for possible quarantine

The U.S Department of Defense has selected a Colorado Army National Guard training institute near Fort Carson as one of four locations to house people who may need to be quarantined after arriving from China, where the new coronavirus virus is spreading.

Meg Wingerter reports that while local officials were told to have space to accommodate 1,000 individuals, it’s unclear if the site will be used as a quarantine housing or how many people might be kept there or when they could arrive. Other potential quarantine locations were selected in Texas and California.
