Army National Guard base south of Colorado Springs selected as site for possible quarantine
The U.S Department of Defense has selected a Colorado Army National Guard training institute near Fort Carson as one of four locations to house people who may need to be quarantined after arriving from China, where the new coronavirus virus is spreading.
Meg Wingerter reports that while local officials were told to have space to accommodate 1,000 individuals, it’s unclear if the site will be used as a quarantine housing or how many people might be kept there or when they could arrive. Other potential quarantine locations were selected in Texas and California.

- Two Colorado children have died of complications from the flu. Influenza B, which is known to show up more in children, doesn’t typically show up until the end of the season, but health officials have noticed it earlier this year.
