The Pagosa Springs Pirates narrowly lost to the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers in a 55-51 contest on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Montezuma-Cortez was lead in scoring by Teagan Whiteskunk who put up 25 points while also collecting one rebound and three assists. Titus Jackson had a solid night, recording 11 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

Pagosa Springs was lead in scoring by Mason Snarr who accounted for 14 points, while also recording six rebounds and two assists. Ryan Lewis recorded a double-double, scoring 11 points and collecting 10 rebounds.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Montezuma-Cortez heading to play Bayfield and Pagosa Springs taking on Centauri.
