After the Nuggets traded away Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez and Jarred Vanderbilt for a new crop of role players last week, it didn’t affect their chances at winning the NBA Finals, according to one oddsmaker.
Bovada gave the Nuggets 16-to-1 odds prior to the NBA trade deadline and, as of Monday, still had them at those odds. They are tied for fifth-best with Utah after Philadelphia dropped from 15/1 to 18/1.
The Lakers remained as the favorites at 9/4 odds. Milwaukee fell slightly from 13/5 to 3/1, followed by the Clippers (3/1 to 7/2). The Rockets improved, going from 14/1 to 12/1.
Denver’s chances at winning the Northwest Division improved slightly, going from 5/6 to 2/3 odds. The team is still fourth to win the West, improving from 10/1 to 9/1. The Lakers (31/20), Clippers (19/10) and Rockets (7/1) are ahead of the Nuggets.
In other basketball odds, the Colorado Buffaloes — who climbed to their highest ranking in the AP poll since 2014 — are 23rd on Bovada’s odds to win the NCAA Tournament at 60/1. Baylor, Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas and Louisville are tied for first at 10/1.
