This afternoon, hundreds of couples gathered outside Loveland ski area’s Ptarmigan Roost Cabin, elevation 12,050 feet, to get married or renew their vows as part of Loveland’s 29th annual Marry Me & Ski For Free Mountaintop Matrimony event, held every Valentine’s Day. The “mass wedding” took about 30 minutes, and after the ceremony, couples skied down the mountain for a reception at the base of Loveland Basin.
