Mckenny’s double-double lifts Battle Mountain over Grand Junction in 50-48 victory

The Grand Junction Tigers narrowly lost to the Battle Mountain Huskies in a 50-48 showdown on Tuesday.

Hakeem Dath lead Battle Mountain with 17 points scored while also grabbing four rebounds. Liam Mckenny recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points and collecting 11 rebounds.

Grand Junction was paced in scoring by Joseph Gruss who scored 16 points, while also recording four rebounds and five assists. Andy Smith and Blaine Butler also had solid outings contributing 11 points and nine points, respectively.

Grand Junction will stay home and play Durango, while Battle Mountain will travel to play Steamboat Springs.
