A single-engine plane crashed near the Colorado River by the Utah state line Saturday morning, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The pilot, who was the only person in the plane, is conscious, and there were no major injuries in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. The 37-year-old was flying from Moab to Grand Junction when the plane crashed into the river.

Crews were able to locate the pilot in the river Saturday afternoon. Pictures from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office show the plane upside down in shallow water, with little damage visible to the aircraft.
