Denver’s food, cash, medical, child care and other human services will shift online Thursday in an attempt to quell the spread of the novel coronavirus, according to a release from the city’s Department of Human Services.
The departmentap building will close Thursday until further notice and outreach workers at other Denver organizations have been recalled, the release said. The department will make the move in accordance with state Department of Human Services guidelines.
Staff will still offer support and safety services online and by phone from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, the release said. Those services include:
- Applying for food, cash, medicare and child care benefits.
- Reporting changes.
- Submitting documents.
- Checking the status of benefits.
- Paying child support.
- Accessing information on rental assistance.
