Police shot and seriously injured a suspected car thief early Friday morning, said authorities.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken to the Parkview Medical Center for treatment, according to a Pueblo police tweet.
Police encountered the suspect in the 1200 block of Deane Lane at 3 a.m. as he was allegedly in the process of stealing items from cars, the tweet indicated.
Shortly after contacting the suspect, at least one officer opened fire and shot the suspect, it said. It is unclear at this stage what specifically provoked the shooting.
No officers were injured, authorities said.
