پhad a surprise for Denverites on Easter: a mural depicting a frontline health care worker, emblazoned on a highly visible East Colfax Avenue wall.

The wall-sized painting, posted on Zucchini-Fowler’s Instagram account Sunday, shows a masked person in blue scrubs holding up boxing gloves while sporting wings. The mixture of down-to-earth and uplifting imagery is a tribute to the “angels” in the age of coronavirus, he said on Instagram.

“Thank you everyone for spreading this message,” Zucchini-Fowler wrote in the post, which had gathered nearly 1,500 likes by mid-week. “Most of all thank you Health care workers, you are our angels ! Happy Easter. #covi̇d19 #mural #streetart #denverart #doctor #painting”

Zucchini-Fowler also previewed the image in a short video four days ago, showing the outlines of the painting he was about to undertake, followed by a time-lapse video of himself (with a mask, of course) creating the image.

“Great progress today,” he wrote. “Shout out to all the medical professionals out there! This work is dedicated to all your efforts. ”

The image is located near the alley on Williams Street and East Colfax Avenue,, caddy-corner from the Squire Lounge and next to a Taco Bell.
