With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Tuesday’s game, the Rockies were 16-5.

SAN FRANCISCO — Behind another strong start from Jon Gray and five home runs, the Rockies continued their scorching hot start to the season with a 10-3 win over the Giants.

Gray (4-0) pitched eight strong innings, allowing three runs — all in the seventh inning — on eight hits and striking out seven. And he had plenty of run support.

Colorado got on the board early when outfielder Charlie Blackmon hit a two-run homer to drive in David Dahl to give the Rockies an early 2-0 lead. Blackmon finished the day batting 4 for 6 with four RBIs. Over his last seven games, Blackmon has gone 12 for 28, batting .429 with six home runs and 15 RBIs.

In addition to Blackmon and Story, Nolan Arenado and Daniel Murphy also added homers.

Giants starter Drew Smyly (1-2) lasted just 2 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs.

The Rockies (17-5) won their seven game out of their last eight and increased their lead in the National League West to 4.5 games over the Dodgers (13-10), who lost their third straight. The Giants fell to 10-13 on the year.

Colorado will go with Antonio Senzatela (1-0) on the mound on Wednesday against Dereck Rodriguez (1-2).
