We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Sunday’s game, the Rockies were 15-5.
It’s becoming a theme: Charlie Blackmon’s heroics lift the Rockies to another win.
The veteran outfielder blasted two home runs in Colorado’s 7-5 win over St. Louis Sunday at Coors Field, giving the Rockies a 2-1 series win. He has hit five out of the park over his last five starts.

St. Louis struck first after Paul DeJong hit a sacrifice fly off of German Marquez to drive in Tommy Edman to make it 1-0 after the top of the first inning.
Colorado answered in the bottom of the inning on Trevor Story’s RBI double off of Mike Mikolis to bring home David Dahl to tie the game up at 1-apiece.
Catcher Tony Wolters hit a two-run home run to right field in the second to make it 3-1 Rockies. St. Louis scored three in the top of the third to take a 4-3 advantage.
Blackmon hit the first of his two homers in the fifth, a two-run blast to right, to make it 5-4 Colorado. He had his second one of the game and seventh overall, this time off of reliever John Gant, to increase the lead to 7-4. Over his last six games, Blackmon has gone 8 for 22, batting .364 with five home runs and 11 RBIs.
Marquez (3-1) allowed five hits and four earned runs in five innings of work. Close Scott Oberg recorded his sixth save of the season.
The Rockies (16-5) increased their lead to 3.5 games lead over the Dodgers (13-9) for the lead in the National League West. St. Louis fell to 8-14 on the year.
Rockies will be off Monday. Colorado will head to San Francisco (10-12) for a three-game series starting Tuesday. Jon Gray (3-0) will be on the mound for the Rockies against Giants starter Drew Smyly (1-1).
