The expected departures of Broncos punters Colby Wadman and Trevor Daniel became official Thursday when the team placed both players on waivers.

The Broncos signed veteran punter Sam Martin to a three-year, $7.05 million contract last month to make Wadman and Daniel expendable. Martin agreed to terms on March 24 and his average salary of $2.35 million ranks 15th among punters. He was 12th last year in net average (41.8  yards) among those with at least 45 attempts.

The Broncos signed Wadman in October 2018 to replace Marquette King. In 28 games, he punted 143 times for averages of 44.5 (gross) and 38.7 (net) yards. Last year, Wadman’s net average of 39.4 yards was tied for 27th.

Daniel was signed by the Broncos two days after the 2019 season concluded.
