Unseasonably warm weather continues its roll in Denver and a record high temperature could fall this week.

On Wednesday, sunny skies are expected over Denver and the high temperature should hit 74 degrees, according to the national weather service.

On Thursday record heat is possible in the city as the high temperature climbs to 88 degrees under sunny skies. The all-time hottest day in April in Denver was 90 degrees on April 30, 1992.

On Friday, the first day of May, Denver’s high temperature will top out at 84 degrees, according to the weather service. Skies will be mostly sunny but there is a 10% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Come the weekend, the heat will back off as a cold front moves in out of the north. High temperatures in Denver will be in the upper 70s and the chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms increases.
