Colorado is entering another week of “safer at home” as businesses begin reopening. However, restaurants and bars are still not allowed to reopen for dine-in service. Some, like Castle Rock’s C&C Coffee and Kitchen are openly defying the state’s public health order by allowing crowds of people inside without social distancing in place. Today, the health department pushed back, ordering the Castle Rock restaurant to close until they comply with the governor’s order.

Gov. Jared Polis gave an update on the state’s coronavirus response Monday. Watch the video below.

As of yesterday’s update, the latest Colorado coronavirus count stood at 971 deaths as testing tops 100,000 people statewide. The state also reported 397 critical care ventilators in use.

Throughout the day, we will share the latest coverage from Denver Post journalists on the coronavirus outbreak on this page. Also, bear in mind The Denver Post relies on support from its readers to provide this in-depth coverage of the coronavirus outbreak, so if you haven’t already.
