On Wednesday, there was an increase of 40 deaths of people who had the virus and 21 additional fatalities tied directly to COVID-19 over Monday’s tallies, though there’s a lag in reporting deaths to the state health department — particularly death-certificate data. There were 362 people hospitalized as of Wednesday afternoon, according to state data, the fewest since March 30.

Nine workers at an Amazon distribution facility in Aurora have tested positive for the new coronavirus, one of 225 active outbreaks in Colorado senior care facilities, factories, prisons and workplaces.

As restaurants begin to reopen for dine-in service this week, one thing will soon become apparent: which dining establishments aren’t coming back at all. Josie Sexton has the details on one that closed for good Wednesday.
