Denver’s weather on Friday and Saturday will be mostly sunny and hot with high temperature in the upper 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

On Friday in the city there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., the weather service said. Winds could gust up to 17 mph.

On Saturday there’s a slight chance of showers between 1 and 4 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service forecast. Skies will be mostly sunny, and the high temperature should rise to 98 degrees. There’s a 20% chance for precipitation.

“Isolated to scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will be possible across north central and northeastern Colorado Friday and Saturday with brief moderate rain and gusty winds possible with the storms,” the weather service said.

On Sunday in Denver there’s a 50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, and the high temperature will top out at 92 degrees.

A slight weather pattern change will allow upper-level disturbances and cold fronts to move across northeastern Colorado on Sunday and into early next week, the weather service said, bringing cooler weather and higher chances for precipitation. Strong storms will be possible across the Eastern Plains Sunday through Tuesday.
