With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Sunday’s game, the Rockies were 66-32.

Kyle Freeland was masterful on the mound and Raimel Tapia hit a grand slam as the Rockies beat the Braves, 7-2, on Sunday at Coors Field.

Freeland (9-5) allowed just two runs on seven hits in eight innings of work. All-star closer Scott Oberg picked up his 30th save of the season.

The score was knotted at 0-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning when Tapia clobbered the ball into the stands to drive home Ryan McMahon, Yonathan Daza and Tony Wolters to give the Rockies a 4-0 lead. It was all they needed.

Colorado (67-32) has a 10 1/2-game lead over the Dodgers (57-43) for first place in the National League West. The Rockies and Marlins (39-60) play the first of their four-game series on Monday. Chi Chi Gonzalez (4-5) takes on Miami’s Jose Urena (8-6).
