The Denver Sheriff Department said authorities are searching for a possibly armed and dangerous man who used false information to escape the Denver Downtown Detention Center Sunday afternoon.
Jerrol Jones, 30, was in custody for a probation violation. He used false information to escape the facility, which is located at 490 W. Colfax Ave., Sunday afternoon, according the sheriff department’s spokesperson Daria Serna.
Jones “should be considered armed and dangerous,” according to a press release from the department.
The probation violation is related to an offense from April 2016 where he pleaded guilty to illegal weapon possession, according to court documents.
