The Grizzly Creek fire has burned 29,732 acres as of Thursday, and officials with the Colorado Department of Transportation said they hope to reopen Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon in a matter of days.
The highway has been shut down in both directions from Glenwood Springs to Gypsum since Aug. 10 because of the fire. Itap the longest closure of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in the highway’s history.
