Grass fire breaks out in Adams County industrial area Monday night

A grass fire was contained Monday night in an industrial area of Adams County.

The fire broke out at about 6:20 p.m. near East 48th Avenue and Ivy Street, releasing plumes of smoke into and already hazy sky.

Multiple fire agencies and departments, including Denver fire, assisted the South Adams County Fire Department in quickly containing the blaze.

At about 7:30 p.m., firefighters remained on the scene working on hot spots and flareups. There were not immediate reports of injuries or damage to property.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
