Man killed in stabbing on Auraria Campus in Denver, suspect flees

Neither the suspect nor victim are believed to be associated with campus, police said

A man was fatally stabbed on the Auraria Campus in Denver at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Authorities do not have a suspect in custody, Denver Police Department spokeswoman Christine Downs said. The stabbing happened during an argument between two people near the Clear Creek Building on St. Francis Way, she said.

Police do not believe the victim or suspect are associated with the campus in downtown Denver. Denver police are investigating the stabbing with the Auraria Campus Police Department.

The suspect left campus after the stabbing on a light-rail train and was last seen in downtown, according to an alert from Auraria police.
