Jeffco high school goes remote after 3 students test positive for COVID-19

Jefferson Jr./Sr. High School in Edgewater has moved all of its students to remote learning following three positive cases of COVID-19.

Jeffco Public Schools was made aware of one student who tested positive for the virus on Sept. 8, the first day of in-person classes, said district spokeswoman Cameron Bell. On Sept. 15, two other student cases were reported, she said.

Students will learn remotely through Sept. 28.

Jefferson Jr./Sr. High School is one of several Denver-area institutions to transition to a remote learning format following positive COVID-19 cases. This week, after six cases were detected. Earlier this month, after too many teachers were quarantined to be able to conduct in-person classes.
