This is a wild statement to make during a pandemic, but this may be the best year yet to check out . The annual street art festival, running through Sept. 20, is naturally COVID-friendly (though I’d suggest visiting during quieter hours, like mornings) and RiNo is in rare form right now. With all the street closures to allow for expanded outdoor dining, the art district is filled with beer gardens and . With streets off limits to cars, pedestrians have ample space to stay distanced.

And perhaps the most important aspect: These businesses — bars, restaurants and retail — have never needed our support more than they do right now. You can feel that gratitude, going in both directions, with every cocktail or tapas transaction.

So grab a mask, put on some comfortable shoes, check out some incredible art and spend a few bucks at the small businesses that make RiNo so RiNo. Use the  to navigate the large field of participants this year.
