If it seems like the annual Top Workplaces competition sponsored by The Denver Post just finished up this year — you’re right. The pandemic delayed what is normally a spring event and extended it to the fall. The special section announcing the winners for 2020 published just last month.

That said, it’s time already to start the process for the 2021 competition.

The first first nomination deadline is Nov. 13. Any organization with 50 or more employees in Colorado is eligible to participate. The organizations can be public, private, nonprofit or government.

Companies will be surveyed through January. Energage, The Post’s research partner for the project, conducts Top Workplaces surveys for media in 53 markets and surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 7,000 organizations in 2019.

For 2020 awards, 2,291 organizations were invited to participate, 240 were surveyed, and 150 were recognized. The number of employees represented by the surveyed organizations was 97,288, with 55,212 employee survey responses.
