A man who allegedly pointed a laser light at a Denver Police Department helicopter has been charged in federal court.
Logan Scott Debyle, of Denver, made an initial appearance in federal court Thursday, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Colorado, news release.
Debyle allegedly pointed a “green laser” light at the cockpit of Air 1 as the helicopter was in flight on Nov. 4, the release said. It’s a federal offense to aim a laser pointer at an aircraft.
If convicted, Debyle could face up to five years in prison, according to the release.
