Serious crash on I-25 near 84th Avenue cleared after slowing commute

A serious crash was causing a backup north of Denver, Thornton police reported Tuesday morning.

Four lanes of southbound Interstate 25 were blocked near 84th Avenue. Police were able to clear the crash around 7:45 a.m.

that it is believed there were two separate crashes in that area — one with up to five involved vehicles. The crashes occurred around 6:15 a.m. and had traffic backed up to 120th Avenue around 6:30 a.m.
