A person is dead following a crash Friday morning on the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Denver.
The crash occurred near exit 271A, east of Sheridan Boulevard, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation and Denver police.
ALERT: Officers are on the scene of a fatal crash , vehicle vs motorcycle. One person has been pronounced deceased. WB I70 just east of Sheridan Blvd . WB traffic is being diverted off on Lowell Blvd. Alternative routes advised. Investigation is ongoing.

Westbound lanes in that area were closed for nearly two hours, and traffic was diverted to the Lowell Street exit, and CDOT warns drivers to expect delays and to use caution. At 8:19 a.m. police announced the lanes were open again.
