Time is running out for skiers and riders to purchase Epic Passes for the 2021-22 season with special perks.

Memorial Day will be the last day you can lock in your pass purchase with a $49 down payment, with the remaining balance not due until September. And, through Memorial Day, the purchase of an Epic Pass will come with the bonus of 10 “Buddy tickets,” good for significantly discounted lift tickets for family and friends.

Here are current cost comparisons between (good at Vail Resorts holdings and partner resorts) and (Alterra Mountain Co. and partners):

  • The Epic Pass is priced at $783. The comparable Ikon Pass is $1,049.
  • The Epic Local Pass is priced at $583, while the comparable Ikon Base Plus Pass is $929. The Ikon Base Plus is similar to the Ikon Base Pass, except the Plus pass includes five days each at Aspen Snowmass and Jackson Hole, while the Ikon Base Pass ($779) does not.

Epic prices are 20% lower than last year.

Vail Resorts mountains in Colorado include Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte. Telluride is an Epic Pass partner.

Alterra Mountain Co. resorts in Colorado include Steamboat and Winter Park. Ikon Pass partners include Aspen Snowmass, Copper Mountain, Eldora and Arapahoe Basin.
