Temporary restrictions on recreational use of Clear Creek in Jefferson County have been lifted.

The order, for safety considerations, was enacted June 8 as Clear Creek waters ran hard, fast and deep. On Friday the sheriff and the Golden Police chief lifted the restrictions, which covered the creek from the Colorado 6 bridge eastward to Vanover Park.

All single-chambered air devices such as belly boats, inner tubes and single-chambered rafts, as well as body surfing and swimming, are again permissible. Although the risk has diminished as waterflow has subsided, all users are encouraged to observe caution while using the creek.
