If the first day of summer was a break from the heat, the second day will turn it up.

The National Weather Service in Boulder forecasts the high for Tuesday will be about 20 degree warmer than Monday’s high. Expect the temperature to reach near 95 degrees in the Denver area under sunny skies. A red flag warning has been issued for the Park Range in northwestern Colorado, and North and Middle Park, NWS reports. Wildfire smoke will be visible.

Tuesday night will be milder with a low of 63 degrees under mostly clear skies.

Wednesday will be even hotter as heat will continue to dominate June. It will be another dry day with a high of 97 degrees under sunny skies. Clouds are expected to come in by Wednesday night with a low of 66 degrees.

By Thursday, temperatures will drop as more clouds and a chance of rain and thunderstorms arrive. Thursday’s high may top 88 degrees. Storms are more likely Friday with a high of 78 degrees.
