The National Weather Service in Boulder issued a severe thunderstorm warning Friday for south central Weld County and Northwestern Adams County effective until 7:15 p.m.
According to NWS, a severe thunderstorm was spotted near Brighton, moving northeast at 5 mph. More storms were expected to develop near Interstate 76 to the southwest. The storms have the potential to develop quarter-sized hail.
Areas that could be impacted included Thornton, Commerce City and Northglenn.
Storm Clouds Building along an outflow boundary just northeast of Denver. Brief heavy rain, small hail, gusty winds and dangerous cloud to ground lightning will be possible with this storm.
