One person is dead after a drive-by shooting in Adams County, just north of Denver, according to authorities.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office shortly before 9 p.m. Monday said deputies and detectives were investigating the shooting near Pecos Street, between W. 76th Avenue and Elmwood Street.

Deputies early Tuesday said the victim, who had been rushed to a local hospital, died from injuries sustained in the drive-by shooting.

Roads in the area were closed during the homicide investigation.

Authorities said the suspect vehicle was a white or silver full-sized truck, but did not immediately provide a make, model or plate number.

They ask anyone with information to call 303-288-1535.
